Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad – IPL Today's Match Prediction

In this section, we provide our KKR vs SRH match prediction for the final, which will hopefully help you bet on the 2024 IPL more confidently.

  • KKR vs. SRH Win Probability: KKR (55%) SRH (45%)
  • This is the first IPL final between the two teams. In the last 10 matches between both sides, KKR has won eight and SRH has won only two.
  • KKR registered a clinical victory against SRH (by 8 wickets) in the first IPL qualifier in Ahmedabad.
  • KKR seems the more balanced side on paper, with all bases covered. Their batsmen have been among the runs consistently, while the bowlers have taken the most wickets (100) in the tournament. SRH, on the other hand, boast a rock-solid batting lineup that has scored the most runs in this edition.
  • The Chepauk wicket will likely help the batters. However, as the game progresses, it will offer some turn to spinners. Any score above 170 will be a fighting total.
KKR vs SRH MATCH PREDICTION

The two most deserving sides of this year’s IPL are in the finals. With very little to separate the two teams, the match can go down to the wire. While KKR has defeated SRH twice in this IPL so far, SRH has many big-match players in their ranks. Everything considered, we at CBA are backing KKR to win this all-important final and take the 2024 IPL trophy home. This is because they have quality spinners on the team, coupled with a solid batting unit.

Key Players

Kolkata Knight Riders

  • Sunil Narine – The spin wizard has the highest MVP rating points in IPL history. He will continue to play his unorthodox shots from the start and utilise the powerplay overs. He is the highest run-getter from KKR (482) this season and has also taken 16 wickets so far. Importantly, Narine has always performed well at the Chepauk due to the wicket suiting his style of bowling.
  • Mitchell Starc – Cometh the hour, cometh the man. This is what describes Mitchell Starc after his match-winning spell (3/34) in Qualifier 1 against SRH. The most expensive player in IPL history justified his price tag by delivering in a big match, and we can expect fireworks from him in Chennai as well.
  • Varun Chakravarthy – He’s been the top bowler for his team, taking 20 wickets so far, the most in the tournament after Harshal Patel. His ability to take wickets against the run of play makes him a threat to any opposition. In the first qualifier vs. SRH, Chakravarthy broke the important partnership between Klaasen and Tripathi, which was the turning point of the game.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

  • Heinrich Klaasen – With 463 runs from 15 matches, Klaasen has played some match-winning knocks in the middle overs whenever the top order failed to fire. Against RR in the second qualifier, the South African produced a match-winning 50 off 34 balls. He has scored runs against KKR in both matches so far and can play spin well, which is exactly what’s needed at the Chepauk.
  • Bhuvneshwar Kumar – Though he went wicketless in both playoff matches, a bowler of his calibre cannot be ruled out. Compared to any other bowler, Bhuvi has taken the most wickets against KKR (32) in IPL history and is also the all-time highest wicket-taker among Indian fast bowlers in the tournament (181). Importantly, he has taken the most wickets in IPL powerplays (71).
  • Abhishek Sharma – With 482 runs from 15 matches, he’s been the best Indian batter in the powerplays. Abhishek has smashed the most sixes (42) in the tournament so far and also holds the record for hitting the most sixes in an IPL season by an Indian batter. Importantly, he can chip in with the ball as well; against Rajasthan in the second qualifier, Sharma took two important wickets.
