MI vs RR Betting Tips

MI vs RR Betting Prediction

We’re backing Rajasthan Royals to win the match against the Mumbai Indians on April 2.

  • Mumbai Indians, as has come to be the norm almost, didn’t get off to a good start in their IPL campaign, losing to a spirited Delhi Capitals in the opening game.
  • Despite Ishan Kishan (81* off 48 balls) and Rohit Sharma (41 off 32) stitching together a solid opening partnership, MI lost the way and posted a below-par total, which DC chased down pretty comfortably at the end.
  • Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, could not have hoped for a better start to their IPL 2022 campaign. They had SRH on the mat, winning the game by a massive margin of 61 runs, which will do their NRR a world of good.
  • It was as if the entire RR outfit was in sync, with each player contributing to the win.
  • First up, Jos Buttler (35 off 28) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (20 off 16) gave the Royals a decent start, and then Sanju Samson (55 off 27), Devdutt Padikkal (41 off 29) & Shimron Hetmyer (32 off 13) capitalised on that.
  • The Royals’ powerhouse middle-order lived up to its reputation, and that poses a stiff challenge to the Mumbai Indians, considering their number three (Anmolpreet Singh), four (Tilak Varma), five (Kieron Pollard), and six (Tim David), all put up a dismal show vs Delhi.
  • Rajasthan Royals’ Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, and Yuzvendra Chahal were the pick of the bowlers against SRH. Chahal picked up three, while Krishna & Boult got two wickets apiece.

MI vs RR Team News

Mumbai Indians

  • Mumbai Indians will look to hit the straps after a loss in their opening game, and to that end, will likely effect one change – bringing in Suryakumar Yadav in place of Anmolpreet Singh. Suryakumar Yadav (“SKY” to his legions of fans around the globe) will want to hit the ground running and provide depth to the middle-order (along with Tilak Varma, Kieron Pollard, and Tim David).
  • After being taken to the cleaners in the game against the Delhi Capitals, Daniel Sams could find himself in a pickle this time. We foreseem him getting replaced by fellow Aussie Riley Meredith or
  • The rest of the team will probably remain unchanged from the first match.
Mumbai Indians Probable Playing XI

Rohit Sharma (c), Ishan Kishan (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Kieron Pollard, Tim David, Daniel Sams/Riley Meredith/Jaydev Unadkat, Murugan Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Tymal Mills, Basil Thampi

Rajasthan Royals

  • Don’t think Rajasthan Royals will tinker with their winning combination, so the lineup is expected to be the same as their opening game vs the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Rajasthan Royals Probable Playing XI

Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (c & wk), Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, Ravi Ashwin, Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Yuzvendra Chahal

MI vs RR Betting: Key Players

Mumbai Indians

  • Ishan Kishan

The most expensive buy in this year’s IPL auction, Ishan Kishan, will undoubtedly be the man Rohit & Co. will look to rely upon when they take on Rajasthan on April 2. And if the 23-year old can deliver the way he has been, we’re in for a treat. In MI’s first game against Delhi Capitals this season, he batted his way to a clinical 81* that came off just 48 balls.

Our top team batsman bet is on Ishan K in MI vs RR betting.

  • Rohit Sharma

The Mumbai Indians’ skipper will look to return to winning ways after losing the plot in the first match vs Delhi Capitals (where he scored 41 off 32). Once Sharma gets going, few can match the Mumbaikar’s hitting prowess. A prolific run-getter, Rohit will have to man the ship and steady the innings at one end while his partner, Ishan Kishan, looks to get into his explosive best.

  • Jasprit Bumrah

He didn’t bowl the best of spells against DC — going wicket-less and conceding 43 runs from his 3.2 overs — but that doesn’t take anything away from the classy death-overs specialist that is Jasprit Bumrah. We don’t see his stocks coming down anytime soon, and we expect him to be the pick of the bowlers in the upcoming match against the Rajasthan Royals.

Rajasthan Royals

  • Sanju Samson

In the past five seasons – from 2017 to 2021 – Samju Samson has played 69 games and piled on 2,028 runs (at an average of 32.5), scoring at a mean SR of nearly 145. Those numbers are as impressive as they get, and they speak volumes about the 27-year old’s batting prowess.

Samson is our pick for Rajasthan Royal’s top bastman in MI vs RR betting.

  • Jos Buttler

IPL 2017 to 2021
Runs: 1,713 | HS: 124 | Avg: 40 | SR: 151.62 | 50s: 11 | 100s: 1 | 4s: 171 | 6s: 79

We’ll let the numbers do the talking.
