Most of these operators are also amongst our list of the best cricket betting sites, our guide to which will ensure that you can get good value for your bet.

Boxing Betting Sites – Reviewed

Based on their international reach, below are some of the most popular boxing betting operators. Screenshots are taken from UK and Indian versions, and offers may differ.

Hugely popular within the Indian market, 10bet offer much more than the welcome bonus available to all new customers.

10bet is well known for its innovative promotional sportsbook offers, with one of the most notable being a money back offer (via a free bet) for a losing wager. In addition to boxing betting, football and cricket are well-covered by promotions, with football bettors able to get 100% compensation on any goalscorer market for top football matches. There are also accumulator boosts on offer, whereby winnings can be increased by 50%.

888sport boxing

888sport launched relatively recently, back in 2008, and has a reputation for focusing on delivering the best sportsbook experience in the world.

The amount of detail in each sport is certainly notable from the start, with extremely niche markets and a passion for statistics, the latter of which will no doubt come highly in useful for bettors, particularly when making in-play decisions. Live streams are also readily available, while the casino and poker sections offer matched bonuses. Mobile users can also get an instant bonus.

bet365 boxing

Established in 2000, bet365 is a giant amongst operators, with millions of players around the world.

Headquartered in Stoke, England, bet365 offers multiple promotions across various sports, which are constantly updated to reflect the sporting calendar. Amongst their most striking football promotions are enhanced odds for the First Goalscorer market, compensation for 0-0 draws, early payouts for teams winning by two goals and guaranteed prices. Apart from these offers, players can also make the most of a generous loyalty scheme.

1xBet offers a quick, hassle-free signup process with a generous welcome offer to boot.

Their sportsbook is up there with the very best in terms of both range and information, and their boxing product is one of the best around. New players can get free bets, while they and everyone else can find classic ‘evergreen’ offers such as enhanced markets, parlay insurance offers, weekend rakeback and guaranteed horse racing odds.

boylesports boxing

BoyleSports started in Ireland, and has expanded rapidly over the years since its establishment in 1982.

Like its fellow top-flight bookmakers, BoyleSports offers a wide selection of sportsbook markets and generous offers, with an easy-to-navigate platform along with a live score service and dedicated radio commentary. The stats centre is also a strong feature to use alongside boxing betting markets, as is the relatively low minimum deposit amount and the speed with which payments are processed.

unibet boxing

Unibet are huge, and have launched more than a dozen different brands, each with a different function but with the same goal of providing a superlative online gaming experience.

Since launching in 1997, the brand’s worldwide customer base has exceeded 9m, and their special offers have undoubtedly accelerated that. At present, customers can get a risk-free bet, whereby if a first bet is lost, the money is refunded up to a certain amount. This is subject to a wagering requirement, but across the board, this is small compared to other operators. There are also rewards for backing outsiders in certain popular team sports.

Boxing Betting Odds, Tips & Predictions

Now that we have identified the top bookmakers for boxing betting, the next thing to do is identify the most important bouts, or which potential future bouts offer the best odds. They are listed in the table below.

Boxing Betting Odds

These odds are taken from selected bouts with favourites in bold text.

Fighter 1 Odd Bookmaker Fighter 2 Odd Bookmaker
Anthony Joshua 2.7 Betway Tyson Fury 1.5 1xBet
Saul Alvarez 1.1 1xBet Billy Joe Saunders 5.5 Betway
Teofimo Lopez 2.2 Betway Vasyl Lomachenko 1.7 1xBet
Terence Crawford 1.9 Betway Errol Spence Jr 2.2 1xBet
Tyson Fury 1.2 1xBet Deontay Wilder 4.0 GentingBet
Vasyl Lomachenko 1.8 1xBet Gervonta Davis 2.3 1xBet

Joshua v Fury

This is the one the world wants to see, and probably will – with a little patience. Joshua entered February 2021 holding three of the heavyweight belts available, with Fury holding the WBC alone. The winner of this bout would thus become the undisputed heavyweight champion. Tyson Fury is the bigger athlete, and has surged over the past few years, memorably beating Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas back in February 2020 with one of the great performances of modern times.

Fury v Wilder (III)

Fury’s knockout victory over Wilder in Las Vegas was in fact their second meeting, coming fourteen months after their first, which ended in a controversial draw via split decision. A third meeting would undoubtedly be a box office hit, and command the lion’s share of boxing betting traffic. So too would it truly gauge the extent of Fury’s ability to build on a magnificent result.

Crawford v Spence

Terence Crawford is a triple champion, once holding one or more belts in three separate divisions (light, light-welter and welterweight). After beating Kell Brook to retain the WBO Welterweight title in November 2020, his record stood at 37-0, making him a slight favourite. Errol Spence Jr is considered a worthy match for him, with a 27-0 record by the same point.

Lopez v Lomachenko

Teofimo Lopez’s victory over Vasyl Lomachenko in October 2020 saw him unify three lightweight titles, retaining the IBF belt and winning the WBA (Super) and WBO belts. His victory came by way of unanimous decision after 12 rounds, setting up a clear precedent for a rematch.

Lomachenko v Davis

As an alternative course of action, Lomachenko may also pursue a bout with Gervonta Davis, as he aims to recapture his personal glory days, which saw him claim championships in three divisions between 2014 and 2020 (featherweight, junior-light and lightweight). Davis provides stern opposition, with a 24-0 record (with 23 knockouts) between 2013 and 2020.

Alvarez v Saunders

Canelo Alvarez ended 2020 on a high, by beating Callum Smith in San Antonio, TX to win the WBA (Super), The Ring, and vacant WBC super middleweight titles. In turn, Alvarez marked a seventh straight calendar year without defeat. After his warm-up bout against Avni Yıldırım, a title unification bout vs Billy Joe Saunders will be forthcoming. Saunders himself ended 2020 with a 30-0 record including 14 knockouts, retaining his WBO super-middleweight title after a 12-round unanimous decision win over fellow Brit Martin Murray in London. Despite his perfect record, Saunders is slated to be a long shot in any bout against the more-seasoned Alvarez.

Boxing Betting Tips & Predictions

Our main prediction is that Anthony Joshua will fight either Fury or Wilder in the future, as the demand for such a bout is so high and widespread. On current form, Joshua would be fancied to beat Wilder in a close-fought match, while the result against Fury would be too close to call. Fury has every advantage, but it would ultimately come down to who wanted it more on the night.

Crawford v Spence also holds a key ingredient for a high television pay-per-view buy rate, with both men potentially being unbeaten by the time they meet. A number of successful events have used this angle for promotion purposes, notably Floyd Mayweather Jr’s win over Ricky Hatton in December 2007, in a Las Vegas-held event entitled ‘Undefeated’. They too should meet soon, and a fight that goes the distance is very foreseeable.

When it comes to fights of such magnitude, there are several ways in which a bettor can maximise their chances of a constructive night with the sportsbooks.

1. Stay on Top of Live Markets

Any fight can turn with a single punch – for instance, a boxer might take six rounds of pure punishment, and find their odds drifting, only to land a hard right hook and daze his opponent in round seven. In the moments following a major blow like this, the aggressor’s live odds would shorten, especially if it resulted in the recipient being knocked down but beating the count.

A survived knockdown is not without consequence, and almost always results in a 10-8 split for that round – rather than the 10-9 or 10-10 usually awarded for anything less remarkable. However, even without a knockdown, the complexion and momentum of the whole fight has changed.

Other elements, such as point deductions and minor injuries (mostly superficial cuts or bruising) can also cause a sudden shift in key boxing betting markets. Giving yourself the ability to react quickly, by keeping abreast of a live stream and the live markets simultaneously, is crucial towards placing a wager on the new aggressor before his odds can shorten even further as the fight turns increasingly in his favour.

The importance of live markets is also a relevant part of betting in other popular sports, as you can see in our guide to the best football betting sites.

2. Consider Parlay Betting on Boxing Events

A parlay bet is also known as an accumulator or multiple, whereby the person placing a wager combines several bets into one, and all selections must come through for a payout. Of course, simply including multiple favourites on one betting slip is not enough to win anything particularly big. Additionally, a night where several significant outsiders win is a rare occurrence indeed.

As such, a compromise is needed. Therefore, picking several proposition bets – in which a fighter must win under certain conditions – offers a much more attractive potential payout. Even if one boxer is a practical certainty to win, choosing specific conditions always offers a higher reward.

It is here that studying form becomes crucial, forcing us to ask ourselves some pressing questions:

  • Does the boxer have a high knockout rate?
  • Does the boxer typically enjoy a quick end?
  • Do bouts involving either fighter often go the distance?

You can easily turn your findings into parlay bets with a good payout and a realistic feel. For example:

  • Smith to win by knockout
  • Jones v Brown to end within 1-3 rounds
  • Harper to win by decision

This is a brave bet by any standards, but not a foolish one if based on verifiable statistics. Naturally though, nobody wants to lose money needlessly, which is why hedging can sometimes be a useful way to protect against losses incurred through lost parlays with longer odds.

3. Hedge Your Bets for Protection

Hedging bets basically refers to backing more than one outcome, but wagering more on the likeliest so that the small profit made covers the losses incurred by a more speculative wager. For example, say there was a boxing event with several bouts scheduled.

At this event, the first bout is a straightforward favourite vs underdog, with the favourite priced at a very short 1.20 – you wager ₹1000 on the favourite for a profit of ₹200 if they win. The second bout is more even, but the outsider is in good form, and you back him to win via KO at 8.00 by wagering ₹200. Provided that the favourite wins Fight #1, you will not lose anything on the night, but merely break even.

You could even take this approach for one single fight, backing both combatants with differing amounts and conditions of victory, although you would need to be content to lose one of the bets.

While eliminator tournaments are sometimes used to fill a vacant title or line up a contender, coverage of anything other than major fights is a rarity with most operators. As such, the focus is simply on who will win, how or when they will do so, or just the specific characteristics the fight itself will have.

Please note that the availability of markets may vary. Our ‘best’ operators have been nominated based on recent prices and/or their history of providing reliable boxing betting services.

Knockout Win

Payouts are awarded for backing a knockout win when one boxer is knocked down and fails to make the referee’s count of ten, or if there is a stoppage. Stoppages can come either from the referee if he believes one fighter to be in danger of grievous injury, or the conceding fighter’s corner – either by refusing to field their boxer for the next round or by throwing in the towel during a fight.

Round Betting

Round betting can refer to several niche markets, whereby a bettor backs one fighter to win a specific round or period, or predicts certain events happening within specific time frames. Knockouts aside, such events might include ‘First Knockdown’ or ‘First Penalty’.

Fight to ‘Go the Distance’

This is a simple bet on neither fighter being knocked out or stopped before the end of the final round. If desired, bettors can simply back fights to go the distance without wagering on a fighter to win.

Highest Scoring Fighter

While this seems like another way to back a win by decision, it is possible for one fighter to lose, but score more points than the opposition. It is a rare and interesting twist, but there are several high-profile examples of this happening in the past, such as Deontay Wilder’s win over Luis Ortiz in November 2019 for the WBC Heavyweight belt.

History of Boxing

Boxing dates back to the ancient world, with depictions of fighters that date back to the 3rd millennium BC. In an effort to fully codify the sport, Queensbury rules became active in 1867, mandating the use of gloves in sanctioned bouts.

Others stipulations included a standard ring size, no wrestling, three-minute rounds and a ten-second count. Boxing was also popular in British commonwealth nations and colonies at the time, ensuring the global popularity of the sport in today’s culture.

In the post-war era, salaries for professionals rocketed, and American superstars dominate the post-1945 list of champions. Names such as Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, Rocky Marciano, Joe Frazier, Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield need no introduction, and they are amongst the elite list of undisputed heavyweight champions across the whole of time.

Boxing Betting FAQs

Which are the best sites for boxing betting?

Based on current odds, and their reputation worldwide, the best sites for Boxing betting are bet365, 1xBet & NetBet

Is it best to place boxing betting wagers early?

This is a question with no definitive correct answer, as there are events prior to the fight (such as injuries or other complications) that can drastically alter the prices. That aside, it is generally best to wait until the fight is less than one week away for a full range of odds as bookmakers’ prices go live. Having a wider choice of operators leads to better potential value for your wager.

Are heavyweight fights better than the others?

In terms of how entertaining fights are, heavyweight bouts certainly are more prone to turn around very quickly, as one clean blow from a prime heavyweight is often enough to score a knockdown. Of course, there is no guarantee that a heavyweight bout will have more punches or flashpoint moments such as knockdowns, and there are many fights at lower weight classes that have gone down in legend.

Meanwhile, in terms of value for your potential payout – rather than entertainment – heavyweight bouts are not necessarily the best. It is often the case that fights headlining televised events provide optimal boxing betting value, regardless of the weight class, as several bookmakers may choose to promote that event with enhanced odds and other special offers.

Which payment methods are best for boxing betting?

Where possible, using a credit or debit card, prepaid card or virtual wallet is the safest and quickest way to deposit and withdraw funds. Alternative methods, including bank wire, international transfer or a paper cheque are also safe and secure, but can take longer.
